On Friday, students in Year 7 took part in a vibrant and thought‑provoking in‑school workshop delivered by Theatre Space North East, funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Fund.
The Creative Community Cohesion workshop used a blend of movement, discussion, and hands‑on creative activities to help pupils explore important themes including inclusivity, racism, privilege, and belonging in an engaging and age‑appropriate way.
Throughout the session, pupils took part in a range of active games and reflective tasks designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage open conversation. They also created individual crafts that formed part of a collaborative artwork displayed at an exhibition at 24NE on Fawcett Street, Sunderland.
The workshop offered a meaningful opportunity for students to reflect on their role in building inclusive communities - both inside and outside school - while enjoying a dynamic and creative learning experience.
