Welcome to St. Anthony’s, we are a Catholic Academy for girls aged 11-16 years, within the Mercy tradition. The foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, Venerable Catherine McAuley instructed her community to “be shining lamps, giving light to all around us”. This quote is at the heart of our school life today and inspires us

Founded in 1904, St. Anthony’s has been delivering high-quality education for over a century. We are proud of our outstanding reputation and strong track record of academic achievement, and we believe that education has the power to transform lives.

Our inclusive environment ensures that all students are nurtured, understood, and cared for. We offer a rich programme of enrichment activities to develop the whole person, raise aspirations, and broaden life experiences.

We value the partnership between home and school, working closely with parents and carers to achieve the best possible outcomes for every student.

In our January 2023 Ofsted inspection (St Anthony’s Ofsted Report), St. Anthony’s was judged to be ‘Good’ in all categories, with inspectors noting:

“Pupils are proud to attend St Anthony’s Girls’ Catholic Academy. They are polite and respectful to staff and to each other.”

“Pupils benefit from a broad and ambitious curriculum. They achieve well.”

“Staff have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour. Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school.”

“Leaders have created a strong culture of safeguarding. Pupils feel safe and know who to speak to if they have concerns.”

We are proud to be part of the Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust, and we look forward to working with you as your daughter continues her educational journey with us.
