St. Anthony’s is an Outstanding Catholic Academy for girls aged 11-18 years, within the Mercy tradition. Our academy was established in 1904 and has been delivering high-quality education for young women for over a century. St. Anthony’s was judged to be ‘Outstanding in all categories’ by Ofsted in March 2013, and we have achieved Teaching School status from September 2014.
As well as our recent Ofsted and Teaching School achievements, the school has had Specialist Technology status since 1999, Language status since 2009, and we are a member of the SSAT (Specialist Schools and Academies Trust) Leading Edge Partnership. We became an Academy in April 2012, and we are very proud of our many achievements and successes over the years.
This is an exciting time at St. Anthony’s as we embark on a new phase for the academy with the redevelopment of our site in a huge new building project: our existing listed buildings will be enhanced and there will be new buildings to provide state-of-the-art facilities. We are looking forward to building upon our successes to ensure that all of our students enjoy a successful and happy time at our academy.
